Sea View Rooms vs. Balcony

Passengers often have to choose between a room with a sea view and a room with a balcony. While most will certainly appreciate the natural light, if you want to justify the expense, you have to think about how often you will be sitting on the porchTo update.

Are you the type of person who really likes to sit in your room or do you prefer to be on deck in the middle of the action? Remember that you cannot use yoursbeverage packagewhen you are in your room!

How much more is a room with a balcony on a carnival cruise?

On Carnival cruise lines, a room with a balcony typically costs $50 to $300 more per person than an ocean view room. On a seven-night Caribbean cruise, the average price for an ocean view room is around $799 per person, while a balcony room is around $909 per person.

Prices can vary significantly depending on the itinerary, with balcony rooms costing more in good weather. Sometimes the best sea-view rooms can cost more than the cheapest balcony rooms, so compare all the options for the sailing you're interested in.

If you're looking for a cheaper option than a balcony, you should definitely do thisCheck out the balcony rooms at Carnival Cove, as one of them might be right for you.

Interiors with windows on carnival ships

While most other cruise lines would classify small porthole windows and large windows with restricted views as exterior or sea view rooms, Carnival classifies them as interior rooms.

For this reason, even if you're sure you want a room with natural light, it's worth investigating the interior rooms, including those with sea views, when booking your cruise.

Be sure to look out for 4K category cabins on Spirit class ships. These have floor to ceiling windows but are classified as Standard Interior Rooms as views are obstructed by lifeboats. If you're experienced, you can choose a room between two lifeboats and enjoy a decent view of the sea.

Here are some interior photos that you might want to consider as a cheaper alternative to an ocean view. Although classified as interiors, they all have windows.
