Car Rental at Eugene Airport - KAYAK (2023)

My flight was delayed a full day and the kayak didn't help. But I was able to call the Alamo desk directly and they fixed everything! The car I rented was perfect for my needs and the price was right!

People parked their cars at the edge of the parking lot, making it difficult to maneuver around them. It's not your fault, but there may be some no parking signs on the sides of your parking lot.

Advantages:

The team was fine. Poorly defined delivery point, could not be found resulting in catastrophic problems. All other rental car agencies have clearly marked routes to their PDX drop-off locations. The ALAMO sign is low and dimly lit, and if your attention is drawn to the "Return Car Rental" signs, it's all too easy to miss.

Damage to the passenger's front hubcap was significant but imperceptible. It took some time to get in line with Eugene and document the damage, so I wasn't responsible. Also, a dedicated front desk clerk would have expedited the process.

I have some physical problems that make it difficult for me to carry luggage and walk long distances. It was a bit difficult for me to pack everything in the car and take it with me. I also wish I had at least rented a car with a sat nav or compass.

I wish it didn't cost so much to add other drivers to the rental agreement. It was all the more stressful to have to drive for a week.

Not going out in the rain with my elderly dad after being out all day... and then waiting for the guy next to our car to find first gear to move his car so we can go with our elderly dad , who had been soaked through until now, were able to get back into ours.

The car pickup at Eugene Municipal Airport (EUG) was very friendly. Especially the young lady (Amber) at the dollar rental counter at the airport was very helpful. She upgraded our car at our request for a reasonable additional charge. This move made our long drive from Eugene, OR to Los Angeles, CA very comfortable.

But for several new locations it didn't work because it wasn't updated. For example, we couldn't navigate to some new locations in Folsom, CA. So we use our cell phones to drive to these places. (GPS needs updating) Car drop-off was at LAX airport. We left the car where indicated. But it was difficult to find the dollar drop off as there was no clear sign and we were in a hurry to get there as the drop off point was not at the airport. Shuttle takes the passenger from this place to the airport. We could only see the Hetz sign. However, on the advice of the staff present, we parked the car in one spot and left the car key in the car as reported. As agreed, we completely filled the tank with petrol before handing over the car. The tank was full. (We would like some sort of written receipt. That the team took charge of the car in the condition it was delivered to us. The tank is full and we owe nothing.)

Budget at Eugene Airport is very efficient.

Reserved and received a confirmation number. We paid excess to take us to the pick up location only to see a very rude young lady say that she is not honoring reservations made in the last 24 hours. Totally bad attitude, no apologies for the waste of time and money and no real explanation for it.

Go straight to the top with no queues. They had all my papers. The car was waiting in good condition. I was off the plane and in my car in less than 15 minutes. It's a small airport but the service was cheerful and good.

Clean, sporty. I could have someone tell me how to open the trunk, turn on the light.

They didn't give me the car I rented and needed. They charged me over $1000 extra for returning the car somewhere else 100 miles away.

He called me the morning of my reservation to let me know they were out of cars. It really pissed me off.

I joined the crowded line before my boarding time. I got to the counter 30 minutes before my appointment and went through the whole process, noticed that there was an additional charge on my paperwork, asked what that was and was told they would request an hour earlier pickup. When I got to the car, there were stains all over it and there was still trash in it. He showed up at the arrivals office and was nearby. No order was given to leave the rental. I called every available number and no one answered. We wandered around for more than 20 minutes until a member of staff from the neighboring hotel helped us. An hour later, I received a notification from my bank that Hertz had billed me $100. I checked my email and there was no explanation.

I had a surprise upgrade (convertible) which would have been nice if the weather had been better and I didn't have to get a child in and out of the back seat (2 door) for the entire trip.

I wanted to renew my lease but the local number wouldn't answer the phone and the national line couldn't help. In the end I returned the car.

They didn't have the vehicle size we booked so they upgraded us to a larger size for free.

When I booked the rental I specified the airport where I wanted to be picked up and dropped off. When we got to Eugene we found that they had booked our rental off site and had to hail a taxi to get it.
